Silver Goals is an Erasmus+ project that connects older adults with grassroots football clubs through meaningful volunteering opportunities. The project promotes active ageing, social inclusion and intergenerational learning, while helping local clubs become stronger and more community-based.
Many older adults want to stay active, useful and connected to their communities, but they do not always find clear opportunities to participate. At the same time, grassroots football clubs often need more support with activities such as mentoring, events, logistics, administration and community engagement.
Silver Goals brings these needs together through training, local activities and a digital matchmaking platform that helps older adults and clubs find each other more easily.
By opening football clubs to older volunteers, Silver Goals creates spaces where generations can meet, learn from each other and build stronger local communities.
Silver Goals is developed by Football Abroad Sweden AB and DomSpain. Together, the partners bring experience in grassroots football, adult education, digital learning and social inclusion. This combination allows the project to connect local sports communities with meaningful volunteering opportunities for older adults.
